Dust in the corner

The Silhouette became an animated grey shadow from out of nothing as if a projector had turned on and was animating a form made of dust.

The face looked startled, then focused on Sophie as it spoke

"I don't have much time"

Sophie sprang backwards out of her chair and hit the floor running on all fours, her arms knitting the floor behind her like a crab until she bumped into a row of folding metal chairs.

The lit form of particles spoke again, this time more resolute in its speech and less pixelated.

It turned and looked directly at Sophie now huddled in a corner behind a heap of chairs and continued "I have managed to create enough of a surge to get this message out, my packet will be lost completely if I use full emulation so this is a low format transmission."

Sophie steadied herself by holding the leg and seat of the metal chair as she managed her own leg out from under herself, then plopped back down as the apparition continued.

"You have a chance to upload your consciousness, at least in part, Take it." The apparition turned towards Sophie's Laptop, fading in and out in shadow and light. "We know that the brain and body are interconnected and that consciousness will continue in another form when it leaves the body, we've known this for quite some time now."

Sophie pulled herself up and broke through her fear to ask the Spector the one question she needed an answer to and started yelling, "How?

How do you know I will come out the other side?" She was crawling now as the apparition glitched and faded, coming back only once more and looking directly at her as it smiled, looked back once more at the device next to Sophie's laptop then disappeared completely.

Sophie swiped at the air furiously screaming "Wait" looking all around the room frantically as if for an explanation as well as the apparition that just spoke to her and clutched at her abdommon as she began to wretch.

She reached for her purse to get her medicine knocking it off the desk as she fell, then slipped into semi consciousness as the brown bottle of pills rolled by her head. Sophie's eyes rolled back into her head as a wave of nausea gripped her and she began to convulse.

There was a spark of blue light and a crackling sound from behind the desk and then a brilliant stream  sped across the outside of the HDMI cable, her laptop rebooted and she struggled to get her self up into the chair.

She fumbled for the electrodes and device that Bay had left for her and barely adjusted them to her head and finger before throwing up.

She pulled the Flash drive out of its sleeve and steadied her hand while placing it into the slot.

In an instant she felt nothing, the nausea had left her body and a great silence had replaced whatever thought formation that had been there a moment ago.

She was in the walls she thought because her line of perspective was both above and across the room she had just been in.

She blinked and gasped then tried to adjust her sense of direction, but could not.

"I'm everywhere" she whispered.

Sophie looked into what she thought was a mirror that had just come into her line of sight and read the words _I'm everywhere written backwards
